Ishaq Dar to Co-chair the Plenary Session of Pakistan donor conference

GENEVA:- International Donor Conference to get financial support for rehablitation and reconstruction activities in the flood area will be kicked off today.

According to the Finance Ministry of Pakistan, Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar to Co-chair with the UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner the First Plenary Session: ‘Pakistan’s Resilient Recovery Strategy’, during the International Conference on ‘Climate Resilient Pakistan’ being jointly organised by UNO and Pakistan in collaboration with friendly countries at Geneva on 9th Jan,2023. The Conference aims at securing international humanitarian assisstance for Pakistan for the post-flood reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet members have been landed in Geneva to attend the conference. Prime Minister and Secretary General United Nations will co-host of main session of the conference.

Pakistan Govt had invited forty countries and different donor agencies in the conference. However, less than ten countries have confirmed that their head of state or head of government will participate the conference and around ten nations have confirmed to send ministerial level delegation, sources said said
