ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has rejected the Finance Division nominee Adnan Aly Agha for the position of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President.
The Federal Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Tuesday. The Finance Division has presented summary to appoint Adnan Aly Agha as President of National Bank of Pakistan. The post is vacant from last year after the retirement of president of Bank. Currently, Rehmat Ali Hasniei is looking after charge of President of the Bank.
According to the Prime Minister Secretariat, the Cabinet has directed the Finance Division to re-advertise the post of NBP President and complete the process as early as possible.
Sources said that the Finance division had recommended Adnan Aly Agha for the post. Adnan Aly Agha was a former contractual employee of NBP and Finance Division had recommended for the seat. He has served as SEVP & Group Chief/Chief Risk Officer, Risk Management Group.
