LONDON: The Scotland Yard police arrested MQM founder Altaf Hussain over 2016 hate speech from his house in London, in the wee hours.

The Scotland Yard police officials also confirmed that they have arrested a 60 years old man for hate speech in 2016.

About three dozen detectives of the Specialist Operations Unit also took part in the search operations against Altaf Hussain.

The Scotland Yard team started the raid operation at 5:30 AM.

The police also directed all the family members to leave the house silently and then arrested him.

The Police statement regarding the Altaf Hussain arrest “A man has today, Tuesday, 11 June, arrested in connection with an investigation into a number of speeches against Pakistan.”

“The man, who is 60 year old, arrested at an address in north west London,” said police

“He arrested on suspicion of intentionally encouraging or assisting offences contrary to Section 44 of the Serious Crime Act 2007,” they added.
