BRISTOL (Sports Correspondent): Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 clash called off before a ball had been bowled after persistent rain in Bristol.

The no-result on Friday, 7 June, means the points shared between the teams. Both the teams, Sri Lanka and Pakistan pushed into third and fourth place respectively.

The rain had cleared briefly before the decision has made to call the game. But there was not enough time to do the necessary clearing up to allow for a shortened contest.

Spectators was disappointing to abandon the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka due to rain.

Pakistan are next in action on Wednesday 12 June against Australia at Taunton, while Sri Lanka’s next game is against Bangladesh at Bristol the day before.
