SRINAGAR: The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for complete shutdown and march towards Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar on May 21. to pay tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone as well as the victims of Hawal massacre on their martyrdom anniversaries.
Unidentified Gunmen has shot dead Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq at his residence in Srinagar on 21st May 1990. India troops had fired on
upon his funeral procession and martyred to over 70 people in Hawal area of the city. On the same day, in 2002, some unknown assailants also martyred Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone. He was returning from Eidgah after addressing a public gathering.
The Joint Resistance Leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar in this regard. They said that they will hold a public gathering on 21 May at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Eidgah. They will also offer fateha for Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone. The gathering will also offer fatiha for victims of Hawal carnage and all other Kashmiri martyrs, further said in the statement.
On the other hand, the locals of Uri district found a dead body of a 25-year-old girl in Baramulla district. The girl was missing since April 3.
On the other hand, a Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer identified as Sushil Kumar was found hanging at his residence at Ansal Flat in Sainik Colony in Jammu, police said.
